August 2024 Update from the President
Health Summit Highlights
Dear Friends,
We are excited to share some highlights from our first Hartland Health Summit, held from July 24‒27, 2024. This seven-day intensive program was a transformative experience for everyone involved, marking a significant milestone in our journey to share God’s principles of wholistic health and wellness.
A Week of Health and Healing
Our summit brought together 265 attendees in person and 40 to 50 online participants for a deep dive into the incredible ways our body can heal itself when we follow God’s health principles. We were blessed to host a line-up of distinguished speakers, including
- Barbara O’Neill: Renowned for her expertise in natural health and healing.
- Dr. David Emerson: A leading authority on alternative medicine. Dr. Emerson is our physician at the Hartland Wellness Center.
- Dr. Mark Sandoval: A pioneer in wholistic health practices. Dr. Sandoval is the president of New Paradigm Ministries.
Our Mission
To equip missionaries to transform the world through Christ.
We are training missionaries to touch people’s lives with God’s love through a biblically based educational program that combines academics with practical service and outreach.
We Envision
Hartland alumni serving in every nation, supporting the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church to prepare the world for Christ’s soon return.
Our Motto
Educating for Eternity, Serving Today!
These experts shared invaluable insights through engaging lectures that covered a wide range of topics such as health optimization, cancer prevention, and natural remedies.
Immersive Learning Experience
Our attendees were not just passive listeners but active participants in a comprehensive health journey. The summit featured
- Juicing Practice: Hands-on sessions that demonstrated the benefits and techniques of fresh juicing.
- Nature Walks: Revitalizing walks in the picturesque landscapes surrounding the Hartland Wellness Center, fostering physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
- Plant-Based Meals: Delicious and nutritious plant-based meals prepared daily, showcasing the benefits of a whole-food diet.

“I just want to say thank you to everyone at this Health Summit 2024. It’s been remarkable! Thank you to everyone who has served us here through representation of Jesus. We are so thankful to Dr. Mark and Barbara and the impact that they made. It’s a summit that I never knew I needed so much!” Stacy
“I liked the whole conference. Dr. Mark Sandoval actually was an influence to me this morning. I have an anger issue, and I always say that I can’t help it, but in Christ I am powerful. When that anger comes, I can actually stop it from happening again!” Jim
“I had no idea that this health summit was going to change my life. I learned about choices I never even knew I had! Dr. Mark straightened us out, and Barbara gave us good health information. Everybody is so sweet and nice. It will impact my life forever.” Marina
“Thank you, Hartland, for having me here. I am so pleased that I attended this wonderful health summit with wonderful people. Jesus is the reason for everything that we do. I am not Seventh-day Adventist, but let me tell you something: the Seventh-day Adventists and the information that God has put in their hearts have changed my life and the life of those around me. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do with my family when I get home! Thank you, Dr. Mark, for all you have done for me. And thank you to every staff member here at Hartland College, because you all made an impact in my life, and I am going to tell everyone that they need to come here for a week and at least serve God and be healed.” Velinki
